Leeuwarden-Friesland: European capital of culture 2018

The opening weekend of Leeuwarden-Friesland 2018 in the Netherlands begins on Friday, 26 January, at the stroke of noon, when all primary school classes will start singing the exclusively composed LF2018 song. From 7pm onwards, the doors of all museums, village houses, collectors and cafés in the province will open. Under the title of 2018 stories, tales will be shared based on special objects that the inhabitants believe should be carried into the future. The afternoon of Saturday 27 January starts with 10 flash mobs by children in the centre of Leeuwarden. This is followed at the beginning of the evening by showcases of projects taking place throughout the entire year.
